A man wearing women’s clothes

When I do think about it, it occurs to me that there are many “men’s clothes” that are quite flattering on women,
but the reverse is rarely so. It’s much the same problem when men wear makeup, at least in the US.
Designers took men’s clothing, and even without altering the cut too much, tailored it to look good on women. Now note, the suit above is cut like a man’s suit, tailored for a woman’s figure. Ignore the buttons. In contrast, this is a suit cut for a woman.
Even if we ignore the color, the placement of the lower button, the width of the lapel, the size of the lapel notch, are not characteristic of men’s suits.

Compare, we have a suit in a traditionally feminine color but still cut like a man’s suit.
Again, ignoring the color, this suit is cut more similar to the first one.

Conversely, men often parrot women’s clothing or makeup, without making it look good on men.
Maybe it’s just a US thing. I’m not sure.

Instead, when people try to dress men like women, we get this.

None of these are terribly flattering to the male figure. And it’s not just that it’s long and dress like. Men have done that before.
It’s even done today.
This all looks from decent to good.

But you can’t just slap a man in a woman’s dress and call it done. Now, I’m not quite sure how to make it work. If I did, I’d probably be a fashion designer instead of an electronics technician. But then, it doesn't seem like professional designers have really figured it out either.

But I do know this much. For the love of God

, stay away from burgundy.
